Bourgine's take on hoop skirts.
In the 19th century, the fashion for layered petticoats was replaced by hoop petticoats, like the crinoline, which was lighter and more practical. The flexible hoops, sewn into the fabric, held dresses in place while supporting their weight. They also added volume to the silhouette, while ensuring greater ease of movement and a little freshness for the ladies.
100% cotton satin, deadstock fabric.
Dry clean.
