About Bourgine

Bourgine is a couture house founded in 2015 and located at 15 rue Racine, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.

the brand was created by caroline bourgine, who designs our collections

little by little, the team grew. Justine, head of the atelier, cuts the pieces with her assistant Juliette. Then Evelyn, Flore and Anna, our seamstresses, assemble the garments. Romane makes sure you know all about our work.

maison de couture

Following the tradition of parisian couture, all our pieces are made in-house, from scratch, in just two weeks.

collections

A few themes and personalities we've explored: mai 68, George sand, Edward gorey, marie-antoinette, the moon, the incroyables & merveilleuses, venice, ozu's Japan, Paris 1900, Hollywood in the 1930s…

Our collections are strongly rooted in costume history and each is inspired by a special place and time. We like to pick a character, real or fictional, and dress them for our times.

"bourgine"?

Bourgine is an ancient French family name and means "inhabitant of the village center". Cool coincidence, as we hold the strong belief that shops like ours are the heart of a city.

One last thing - a hardworking shop cat inhabits the 15 rue racine, so come say hi to Norma if you’re in Paris!
