This week's report - June 7, 2026
This week, let’s put costume history on pause for a bit of present-day history. This is a staffing update, and a small treatise on organizational management.
Each year, Bourgine’s activity grows by 30%. The team, by 20%. The physical space, by 0%. We recently considered moving so we could spread our wings, but the demons of real estate had other plans.
Never mind: we reorganized our beloved first floor.
I'd like to introduce you to the new members of the team, who are joining the ranks of:
Justine, our head of atelier (and then some), who is beginning her fourth year at Bourgine
Evelyn, perfect sewing apprentice
and the irreplaceable Madame Chau
Let’s begin with Juliette, our new cutter. After her internship in December, we snapped her up before she had even finished her final year of school.
After a round of interviews worthy of the French secret service, we found a sewing gem: Hanane, who has been with us for ten days and is already comparable to the supersonic Madame Chau.
A hello from our two interns, Clarisse and Marine:
A surprise from the boss lady: meet Scott, our new partner on the Souliers Dulion project. He spends quite a bit of time lounging in Norma’s chair.
In the departures section, we would like to thank Romane and Flore, who have set off for new horizons after a remarkable spell in the Bourginery.
And of course, past, present, and future, one constant remains:
We are honored by the public and critical response to the Renaissance collection — it has been keeping us very busy.
Now is the time to get yourself properly outfitted before summer: our crack team stands ready.
PS / classified ad: we are looking for a boutique manager to join us in September. If you know the ideal person, send her our way.
