This week's report - June 29, 2025

Here's what happened this week at Bourgine HQ.
First, Caroline - Bourgine boss lady - went away to Greece for a wedding but mostly to crast-test the latest piece of the collection, namely the Jupe Cerceau, in extreme conditions: packing, unfolding, surviving heat, moving around, sitting on, dancing in. Verdict: it's all good. Fin her Greek recs at the end of this.
The team is in love, obviously. Evelyn - apprentice seamstress - left her machine for a second and came downstairs to the shopfloor to tell us how pretty Caroline looked.
What you need to know about Jupe Cerceau:
1. It came to life because Caroline wanted to make a special piece for wedding season or a random Tuesday
2. We waited before releasing it to make sure it was actually wearable. Turns out it's extra light, comfortable and packable
3. It is delivered with its own protective cover and exists in two colors: blue and pink
Caroline being away means someone well-lnown by early and loyal customers turned up at the boutique: our dear Norma, icon and higher authority at 15 rue Racine.
To be transparent, Norma was a bit grumpy without his mistress, away from his new home (also because there was no Parmesan left - his morning treat).
That said, he was great company, saluted clients and never forgot to check on the pieces Justine was cutting. Higher authority, I said.
About the little voice writing to you: I'm Romane by the way and I joined the team a few weeks ago after years of being a customer, and, dare I say, a fan of Bourgine.
I have fought numerous battles this week and earned a few stripes with the technical tools that come with running a shop on a day-to-day basis. Ô Meta, Shopify, Mailchimp... You and I... It's not a love story yet but we're getting there. A couple nervous breakdowns were had under the eyes of an amused Justine. But there's hope and Bourgine's commercial future looks bright.
